ANIMATION

Image
This animation gave me the hardest time of any assignment all semester. But, Im thankful it did. This assignment took a massive amount of patience and taught me a lot about myself. I took a video of my self bouncing a ball off a wall and and went frame by frame and outlined my self. The ball was difficult because when thrown it would become distorted and blurry. Overall this class has pushed me to my limits and because of that I feel I came out of the class not only smarter, stronger, and more confident of my creative abilities but also a better person in general. I would like to thank professor Echeverry for teaching and showing me things that I will carry on for the rest of my life.

AUTOSCOPY

Image
This assignment was probably the most cathartic assignment I worked on. The goal of the Autoscopy was to take a picture of yourself and to express something deep and personal to you. My beginning photo was definitely an interesting choice, most prominently because the lack of detail on my face. But this was an artistic choice and was necessary to the message I was trying to send. This is my autoscopy I used an image of a brain scan of someone with Alzheimers. The reasoning for this is because I have a family history of Alzheimers and it has been something difficult that I have had dealt with in the past. This is also something that  myself might have to deal with later in life. Like death the idea of being forgotten and forgetting is difficult to process. Since I couldn't put my fear and anxiety into words I decided to put it into this piece.  After completing my Autoscopy the assignment called to experiment with exporting the image as a GIF. I made many different versio...

MULTIPLICITY

Image
For my multiplicity project I continued on my last project and decided to make my own Fightclub. I found a nice (not so nice) alleyway and set up a tripod ad got to work. Here our all the photos I took. It was a time consuming process and took a couple different outfit changes... for anyone walking by they probably thought I was a crazy person. I once again utilized fake blood and put it on my fist to make it more realistic however it was difficult to see in the final product. This is it. My very own nightclub. I had the most fun actually taking the photos. I am happy with the variety of personalities and outfits I was able to complete in this assignment.

SOMEWHERE

Image
For the somewhere project I decided to use inspiration from the film Fightclub. I chose this part of the movie to photoshop myself in. I then took a picture of myself in the proper attire. After this I made a mask of myself and placed myself into the scene. All that was left to do was tweak the coloring and this was the result I got.

BLACK AND WHITE TO COLOR

Image
This was my originally selfie... this time going into the project I realized my hair would be a problem hence the hat to try and make my hair more manageable. I do believe that in the end the hat was a good idea.   I then converted the image to black and white. I then added my color to them. It was fun experimenting with different colors and turning my skin green ect. Once I was finished changing the color of myself I still couldn't help but feel that something was missing, so in order to make the selfies feel more complete I colored the background of the selfies in my own interesting and fun way.

POSTER

Image
Finally I get to talk about this assignment. The poster project was one of the best most liberating and fun assignments I have ever worked on. Everything just worked. The idea just came to me and it was exciting enough to fuel me to work on it immediately.  This was the photo I started off with. My whole idea stemmed from some of my conflicts with religion. Although I respect anyone that is religious and finds joy and purpose within religion I personally have a disconnect and can't bring my self to believe in a religion. I used fake blood on my photo and placed my hands over my face. I didn't want it to look like I was overtly praying but I wanted something that looked close enough, I think the final result looks like I am either praying or ashamed. lastly I wanted to be looking up to add to the meaning of the project. This is the end result. I was incredibly happy with how this assignment turned out. Everything just felt right and I had zero problems or troubles in completin...

CALLIGRAPHY

Image
This was my reference photo for my Calligraphy project. I wish that I used a better and more planned out photo. I chose this photo because I thought that my hair would work well and it had gave me problems on other assignments.  This was originally what I had and I can confidently say that this was my least favorite assignment. I struggled with what seemed like a relatively simple task and completely overcomplicated it every step of the way. My hair was an absolute NIGHTMARE and at first I tried to singularly do every strand of hair as a sentence... I soon realized that this was not possible... I do think it adds nice and necessary detail to the piece. After presenting in class I was upset with the work that I presented. Instead of sitting around I decided to try and fix it. I realized that if I took away instead do more I could actually make the piece better and more appealing. I made some tweaks and ended up with what you see above. Although this assignment was easily my least fa...

LOGO PROJECT

Image
This is what it all started off with. Although I disliked my terrible hand drawn version of my final logo, I knew it was the right design to go with and that I could execute it better on illustrator.  This was my final version of my Logo. Im very proud of this simple yet effective design. The misspelling of the word funny (spelt Funni) I feel adds to the playfulness and idea of the logo. The hat element was by far the most difficult part of this project. These are the black and white versions of my logo. I like them slight less then the color because I believe they lend a more serious tone than I originally intended. However I still think it looks great and was happy with the details and lines within the hat. Lastly the business cards I believe were very successful and captured what I wanted this logo to do. Overall I was very pleased and happy with this process.
