Iron Giant Canvas

Image
This is where I ended up. After 33 saves and a lot of work I completed my final canvas project. I took inspiration from the Iron Giant (seen below). One of my all time favorite movies and at points I thought I would never want to watch this movie again due to the mind numbing process but what I learned so far in this class is that the final product makes it all worth it. I still love Iron Giant and maybe even more so now then before. This project pushed me to my limit and it was absolutely worth it!

The Cyclops

This was one of the first times in the class that I took what I learned and try to turn into something. I present the the cyclops... don't be fooled by its basic appearance... it took me a long time to make this. I am very proud of this example and believed it helped me in the creative part of the class.

Post #1 - Introduction and ASCII Art

Hello, my name is Sean DeFlora. I'm a Junior at the University of Tampa seeking a BFA in film and media. I am originally from Montclair, New Jersey located about 30 minutes away from New York City.  I grew up playing sports such as wrestling and basketball and some of my other interest include music, meditation, and any sort of physical activity. So far this class has made me both nervous and excited, this course is introducing an entire new way of thinking when it comes to how I perceive the digital media I consume on a day to day basis. By the end of this class I hope not only to understand what is going on behind the media I see electronically but to be able to effectively create media myself. Im excited to learn and start working!
